Church Covenant
We will endeavor, with God's help, to order our behavior in the world, and in the church, as becometh the Gospel of Christ, endeavoring to watch over and edify one another in love.
We promise to attend the public worship of God with our brethren as consistently as possible and to especially attend upon celebration of the Lord's Supper.
We engage to read the Scriptures and to pray in secret and with our families; to be sober and temperate in our behavior, just and upright in our dealings, studious to promote peace and goodwill among all men, kind and just toward those in our employ and faithful in the service we promise others, endeavoring in all things to maintain a conscience without offense in all relations in this present life.
We also engage to contribute of our substances, as the Lord may prosper us, to the support of the church, and to the various benevolent causes with which the church is identified.
We further engage to behave ourselves affectionately toward our pastor, to pray for him, cooperate with him, and to heed his warnings and counsels when administered according to the precepts and spirit of God's Word.
We will endeavor to hold toward the members, a kind, sympathizing and forgiving attitude, never condoning sin, nor needlessly exposing the infirmities of others but exhorting one another, and so much the more as we "see the day approaching."
In all cases of discipline, or of business before the church, we will endeavor to avoid a contentious spirit. If unable to agree, we will recognize the right of the majority to govern.
